What Is Your 'Love Actually'?
Love Letter | 30Th September 2026
What a movie can teach us about the many faces, stages and stories of Love.
There is a movie I have loved for many years: Love Actually.
What continues to fascinate me is not simply the romance, the humour or the Christmas atmosphere. It is the way the film brings together such a rich tapestry of human relationships — new Love, established Love, unrequited Love, friendship, family, parenthood, grief, betrayal, longing, desire, loneliness, loyalty and the courage to begin again.
There isn’t just one story of Love. It’s also a story of letting go and healing the heart.
There are many individual Love Stories in this movie.
And perhaps that is exactly why Love Actually makes such a wonderful metaphor for Love Coaching.
As a Love Coach, I don’t see Love as something that begins when we meet “the one” and ends when a relationship succeeds or fails. Love has many stages, many expressions and many turning points.
There is the person who is longing to find Love and needs to understand what they are truly looking for.
There is the person navigating dating, attraction and the vulnerability of opening their heart.
There are couples wanting to communicate better, restore intimacy, navigate conflict or simply grow together rather than apart.
There are people facing betrayal, separation or divorce and even death of their beloved, who need support to make conscious decisions in one of the most emotionally challenging chapters of their lives.
There are parents and children, siblings and friends, families and communities — relationships that may never be romantic, but can profoundly shape our capacity to love and be loved.
And then there is the beautiful possibility of starting over.
Finding ourselves again.
Opening our hearts again.
Creating a new chapter.
This is what I find so powerful about Love Coaching.
It doesn’t have one doorway.
It meets people wherever they are in the evolution of their relationships — and helps them become more conscious of what they are creating, what they are learning and who they are becoming through Love.
Because ultimately, Love is not one relationship.
Love is the field in which we live.
And perhaps that is why this movie has stayed with me for more than two decades. Being a Film Editor I cherish the creative and timeless spirit this film represents globally.
It reminds us that behind every relationship is a human story.
And behind every human story is an opportunity for greater awareness, greater compassion and greater Love.
So perhaps the real question isn’t:
“What is 'Love Actually'?”
Perhaps it is:
“What is YOUR Love - actually?”
And what could become possible if you learned to approach it with the same consciousness, care and expertise that you bring to every other area of your life?
